If you had an extraction or implant placement surgery recently, you may be wondering what you should do after surgery. On the day of surgery our staff will give you a brief description of post surgery care instructions, but in the case where you forget or did not receive instruction we have it listed below.
Healing following surgery is usally fast and uncomplicated if you follow the instructions listed below:
- Do not eat or drink hot foods the day of surgery or the next few days following. Eat cool, soft, nutritious foods.
- Do not “suck” on the wound site for the few days follwoing surgery.
- Do not eat hard foods for a few days.
- Do not overexert yourself during the 24 hours following surgery.
- Use lukewarm salt water rinse.
